Despite the fact that it uses the E-Class moniker for part of its name, along with a number of E-Class options and engines, the current generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe (C207) is actually based on the old C-Class (W204) platform, a detail which didn't go so well with some of its customers.
