Acura’s all-new RDX crossover is coming to this year’s New York International Auto Show.
The new model will launch in mid-2018 and is the first in a new generation of Acura products to boast the automaker’s new design language, as well as a Precision Cockpit-inspired interior with the new True Touchpad Interface.
Aside from the car itself, Acura will also unveil a brand new spec for the RDX, called A-Spec – the very first application of the sport appearance variant to an Acura SUV. The A-Spec will boast “sport appearance detailing”, according to the Japanese automaker, both inside and out.
As for other noteworthy 2019 RDX features, there is the Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, a new 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine, a segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission and the NSX-inspired Integrated Dynamics System – overall, this should be the quickest and best-handling RDX ever.
The all-new 2019 RDX was designed and developed in the U.S. for the very first time, styled at the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, and developed in Raymond, Ohio. The new model will be produced at the automaker’s East Liberty, Ohio plant, while the new VTEC turbo engine will be coming from Anna, Ohio.
The unveiling will be live-streamed on Acura’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter pages, March 28th.
