Dodge has introduced the facelifted Durango which features an all-new Hellcat variant.
Starting with the latter, the model is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 710 hp (529 kW / 720 PS) and 645 lb-ft (874 Nm) of torque. It’s paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system.
This setup enables the Durango Hellcat to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in a ridiculous 3.5 seconds. The model also has a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) and can run the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. If those specs weren’t crazy enough, the SUV can also tow 8,700 lbs (3,946 kg).
To keep things under control, engineers gave the Durango Hellcat a sport-tuned suspension and 20-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. The latter are backed up by a Brembo braking system that features six-piston calipers which grab onto 15.8 inch (401 mm) discs up front. Out back, there are two-piston calipers and 13.8 inch (351 mm) discs.
