There are just 555 BMW Z8 Alpina models in existence but despite its rarity, the owner of this particular example hasn’t kind of neglected it in recent years. That’s where Larry Kosilla from AMMO NYC came to the rescue.
Prior to the car being dropped off at Kosilla’s shop, the rare Z8 from Alpina had been left outside under a car cover for 4-5 years. As such, it was extremely dirty and various areas of both the exterior and interior had mold throughout.

Kosilla starts off by spraying the car in soap and carefully pressure washing the exterior. He continues this process throughout the engine bay as it was absolutely filthy and also needed some TLC. He then lifts up the car and removes the wheels before cleaning them and finishing them with a ceramic coating to make them that much easier to clean in the future. The undertray of the car was also thoroughly cleaned.
Then comes the difficult process of polishing the bodywork. Kosilla notes that the paint of the Z8 is quite soft and that in areas where the most significant damage could be found, including on the front fenders, it is also quite thin. As such, polishing out all of the scratches took a lot of time and some trial and error, but the end result speaks for itself.
For those that don’t know, the Alpina variant of the Z8 features a 4.8-liter V8 with 375 hp and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque, while the BMW Z8 has a 4.9-liter V8 with 395 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm).
