Diesel is growing in popularity among passenger cars in the US, Canada, and along with it, the danger of misfueling – putting gasoline into the tank which should contain diesel only.
Volkswagen of America is reportedly supporting the cost of having to fit a misfueling protection system to some quarter of a million Jetta and Golf TDIs , manufactured between 2009 – 2012 and 2010 – 2012 respectively.
