Hot on the heels of the 2023 BMW X1 landing in the hands of journalists for its press launch, the German car manufacturer has released more than 100 new photos of the SUV.
The German car manufacturer lifted the veil on the new X1 in late May. It refers to it as a Compact Sports Activity Vehicle and has a more refined design than the previous-generation model.
The front of the new X1 is particularly striking. This comes thanks to the inclusion of the obligatory kidney grilles which are not the largest in the BMW family but remain massive for a vehicle of this size. BMW has also slotted in a pair of new headlights complete with inverted-L daytime running lights that further the dynamic looks of the X1.

These striking design changes continue to the rear of the SUV where there is a new roof-mounted spoiler, LED taillights with an eye-catching light signature, and a bold diffuser with a silver faux skid plate.
A key differentiator between the new X1 and the old one is that the 2023 model is quite a bit larger. In fact, it is 1.7-inches (43 mm) longer, 0.9-inches (22.9 mm) wider, and 1.7-inches (43 mm) taller. The wheelbase has also grown by 0.9-inches (22.9 mm) and sits at 106 inches (2,692.4 mm). These increased dimensions contribute to extra shoulder and elbow room for both front and rear-seat passengers.
Customers in the United States will have just one powertrain to choose from, namely an updated 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 241 hp between 4,500 and 6,500 rpm and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm. Working alongside this engine is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power through all four wheels.
U.S. pricing for the 2023 BMW X1 kicks off at $38,600 plus a $995 destination charge. It will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.
